SMALL PLANET

I know Luciano Cordoni since the late 80's when he was in the Tessalia line up. Tessalia was one the best band that Curitiba ever heard. Crossing Dead Can Dance with Cocteau Twins they got lots fans in Brazil mostly me. Small Planet is the current Luciano Cordoni project that is more comtemporary than Tessalia and the tunes has heavy influence of Massive Attack and a little potion of Lambshop in my oppinion. Luciano that is from Curitiba knows what is doing and i am sure Small Planet will be going ahead like a band very soon.

PRIVATE DANCERS

In 2005 in a hot night in Rio de Janeiro Tatiana Rojas met Gabriela Campelo and decide to begin with some mates Private Dancers. Since then they are playing togheter around Rio and others brazilian cities. The band doesn't mind about get success and their label Midsummer Madness is cult in Brazil. They play what they want always trying to be original and creative. The influences are Duran Duran, Pretenders, Rio alternative music scene, Pretenders, Pulp but if you listen Private Dancers you will discover that their tunes are exactly everything that I mentioned with a self style. Eletronic, guitar, new wave...it doesn't matter. Listen now, please.

Luiz, the Trevo Artes Manager showed me these guys. They put out recently an cd/ep with 3 beautiful songs. Celestines play from the deep soul trying to explain the what happen with our complicated emotions. They are young poetries lost in Curitiba crossing streets, squares, looking for something that nobody understand. Hope you like.

Stay cool people that I am backing to write in my UV Blog. Really life is hard because I don't survival writing or doing things with alternative music. I have another ocupation but I love to write about brazilian music. Soon you will know more brazilian sounds like Celestines, Nielsen and others.

CHARME CHULO

Listening Charme Chulo you must to open your mind and understand that the band is different than others alternative bands but they get make a beautyful music crossing Smiths with traditional brazilians folk/country artists like Tião Carreiro e Pardinho, Almir Sater, Nhô Belarmino e Gabriela. The avant garde people can't understand their propose but it doesn't mind. The more important is Charme Chulo has their own style and personality showing to the rock and roll scene there is possibility to make something smart and new. The new CD are coming and it must be out later February 2007. Before I forget they are from Curitiba.
